About Us

Opson Legal Nurse Consulting was founded in 2005 by Laura Opson. Before becoming a Legal Nurse Consultant, Laura worked as a Registered Nurse for more than 25 years, specializing in medical intensive care, pediatric ICU, neonatal ICU; and provided ground transport for neonates.

With her extensive background in hands-on direct health care experience, Laura remains clinically active as a nurse case manager. She sits on the board of directors for Washington Medical Case Management Association and is a liaison to the Public Policy Committee for Washington state to the Case Management Society of America, promoting health care through case management nationally.

As a Legal Nurse Consultant and nurse case manager, Laura is skilled in working with complex cases including catastrophic, spinal cord, and Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI).

Laura has been welcomed as a presenter to organizations including Washington State Association for Justice and the former Puget Sound Legal Nurse Consultants. Engagements have included speaking on the topic of brain injury, case management, and Legal Nurse Consulting.

Professional Memberships include the Brain Injury Association of Washington, Washington State Medical Case Management Association, and Pacific Northwest Neuropsychological Society.

When Laura is not working, she raises chickens, enjoys long-distance bike riding, supporting important medical charities, does yoga in her spare time, and keeps a small garden. Laura is delighted to be the mother of three wonderful, funny, bright, and nearly-grown children.
